Accountant

Shining Star Consulting is seeking an accountant with at least 3 years' experience in nonprofit accounting. Nonprofit accounting experience is required. Reporting to a Controller or Director of Finance, responsibilities include AP/AR, journal entries, donor restrictions, accruals, prepaid depreciation, bank and payroll reconciliations, month-end close, and financial reporting/compliance with advanced excel skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Build strong client relationships and provide great service
• Manage vendor payments and invoicing
• Reconcile all bank, investment, and credit card accounts
• Understand and comply with donor restrictions
• Handle month-end close tasks
• Prepare financial reports and support grant accounting
• Help identify process improvements and implement automation

Qualifications

• At least 3 years nonprofit accounting experience
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting
