Job Summary
We are looking for a CAD Design Engineer to prepare, maintain, and update detailed design documentation in support of audiovisual (AV) and systems integration projects. This role supports project teams by producing accurate AutoCAD drawings, design packages, and technical documentation used for estimating, fabrication, and installation. This is a part-time, fully remote position focused primarily on design, coordination, and documentation activities. This role will work approximately 2-32 hours per week depending on project needs. While this position is fully remote, this role is only open to candidates who reside in the US with valid work authorization.
Job Responsibilities
- Attend remote design and coordination meetings with internal teams to support projects in various phases of planning and execution.
- Develop and revise CAD drawings, including:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and implementation teams during kickoff and design review phases to confirm and document:
- Apply ASG drafting standards, including cable color codes, labeling conventions, and documentation best practices.
- Assist with the creation, reconciliation, and review of Bills of Materials (BOMs) to ensure alignment with design documentation.
- Perform design quality reviews to identify missing equipment, discrepancies, or
+ System schematics + Line and single-line diagrams + Rack elevations + Room layouts and routing plans
+ Building and room layouts + Cable conveyance paths (conduit, tray, raised floor) + Power requirements and infrastructure + Plenum and non-plenum spaces + Signal and transport formats (e.g., 3G, 12G, IP-based systems)
